Thoughts on Photographing Children

I like my child photography to evoke memories when seen.

I want to capture more than what a child looks like, but also who they are in their different ages and stages. What do they like doing? What is their favorite thing? What facial expressions have they taken on?

To allow their personalities to show through, the photography sessions will be very interactive.  The sitting or standing still poses will be mixed in with moving, exploring and fun.  They are allowed to come and look at their photos on the camera as we are taking them.  They are allowed to have their own ideas for poses and places to take photos, and then I’m allowed to have a turn too.

The finished artwork, will have the feel of something natural and classic and unique to them.  I hope the images promote conversations and smiles for the years and generations to come.
