This is Kane. Ever since I photographed his sister Kyra, he has been asking his Mum for his own special photo session, and steam punk with 'pooches' seemed the perfect fit.
We haven't had trains through Rotorua for around 20 years now, so we made use of the abandoned rail tracks and I brought out a couple of vintage trunks I had. The evening looks warm and sunny, but it was freezing! Kane did so well and so did the 2 family dogs. Here are some of my faves from the session.

When authoress, Nadine Steele, said she wanted a photo session with her dogs, steampunk style, I did an inner fist pump, while maintaining a cool, professional, calm exterior....
Rotorua and steam go together, so I didn't have to hire a fog machine or use dry ice, just had to work with the natural thermal steam coming from the Whakarewarewa area. Nadine breeds and shows her champion border terriers. As well as that, she is author to the childrens book "Look Like Luke", teaching children dog safety. Another book is on the horizons shortly, so keep an eye out. Here are a few of my faves from her session. |
