I love our beauty shoots.  They are about the beauty of woman, no matter what age and shape.  We blend in a touch of her personality, the beauty of Rotorua all in an artistic way. 

So for our first promotional shoot, we did the Beautiful Brooke.  It was everything I had envisioned in a beauty shoot. So much so, we, (the beauty team), kind of wanted to have a go ourselves.....  So we did.

We actually all represented different age groups, 20s, 30s and 40s.  
I was the final shoot..... and I put it off for as long as I could, until Danielle kept pushing me to do it.   In the end it was really good for me to be in front of the camera, experiencing what it is like to do our beauty shoots. I'm the type of person who hates being in front of the camera,  most photos of me are snapshots of me in mid speech or mid blink and I look like a hideous halfwit. 
I have never had my make up professionally done, not even on my wedding day.  I've never had a photo shoot based solely on me!  

I told Jessica our hairstylist, my setting was under the willow tree, with my favourite old chair, teapot, cup and saucer, books (Agatha Christie and Robert Burns), my cross stitch and knitting.  I said I was either thinking fake mohawk or something reminiscent of Agatha Christie era for my hair style.  I think she made the right choice.  She did finger waves.  
When I had my hair and make up done, my youngest son said, "Mum you look young!".... (mixed emotions at this point; yay I look young, and I must look like an old hag most of the time).

So if I'm the photographer, who took the photos?  I set the camera settings on two cameras, and handed them over to Danielle our makeup artist and her 11 year old daughter.  I did the photo editing afterwards, but the only things I touched was the colouring and tints.  I didn't take away any wrinkles or do any tucks.  This is me (dirty feet and all).  Conclusion,  I think our beauty team rocks!  I feel quite gushy over these photos.
