The importance of headshots
I have been busy photographing clients headshots lately. As the rain is pelting down outside, I am reminded how winter is great time to catch up and update the things we let slide when the weather is warm and we are too busy having fun in the Summer sun.
Portfolio shots / headshots is one of those things we can put off, but are important for websites and promotional material. People like to see who they are going to be working with and I think it makes a business more personable.
I like to mix it up a bit with this type of portrait session. Do some formal type shots in colour and also get some more relaxed, personality type shots in black and white. The formal type shots are the photos that tend to get used in promotional material and websites. The black and whites are also nice to use on a "About Me" page on a website, and also as portfolio pics on social media.
Here are a few from a headshot photo session I have just finished for a Beauty Tutor.
Thinking I better take my own advice and update my own headshots. I've had short hair for about a year now!
