Lawn Croquet - a few of my favourite things

Brush off the dust and cobwebs and bring out my croquet set, summer is here!

Croquet is one of my favourite summertime things to do.  Not the  smooth lawned, white clothes, and hushed toned croquet, but the back yard variety where:

• there are many natural and domestic wash line type obstacles, 
• where the course is more reminiscent of mini putt, 
• where brushing away a leaf from your planned hitting path makes all the difference as you try and hit the ball over a tree root, 
• where loud coughs and noises from competitors are mandatory when an opponent is trying to hit the ball,
• where the winner does loud celebratory laps with mallet in the air and ballerina type jumps, while the losers try and figure out a way to trip the winner up with their mallets.
