Awww this was so sweet. Even though it rained, this wedding was really lovely and intimate. Richard and Maggie got married on their little farm out Hamurana way. They got married on their veranda and set up a marquee in a back paddock. For wedding photos I took them to Hamurana Springs and later got some of the couple on their Tractor! Trying to get the guest shot was hilarious. It had just stopped raining for a bit, so me and Richard tried to herd everyone outside. By the time everyone got there it was pouring!! Trying to get everyone to put their umbrellas down at the same time for a quick shot was impossible, but soooo funny. Here is some pics: To see more of their wedding photos, click here to view the slideshow: RICHARD AND MAGGIE

Adam and Lisa. Beautiful day and a Beautiful couple! This was a Friday wedding morning wedding on the Mt Maunganui beach. The groomsmen were actually groom ladies dressed in black and white dresses. The bride wore a stunning blue and white dress, and the bridesmaid was in a blue summer dress. Both mine and the Lisa's dress got wet at the beach in a bridal shoot extreme! I had them on cliff tops, up trees, in rocks! They were awesome. Here is some of the pics. Calico Jo
www.calicojo.co.nz In February, Jaxon and I photographed the wedding of Shanon and Aroha at 'The Pillars' in Taupo. The venue is really nice, with a lovely homestead and gorgeous gardens. We had so much fun doing this wedding, I even had to tell Aroha to stop making me laugh or the wedding photos were going to be all jiggly! Unfortunately Jaxon's ego was starting to reach new levels at this wedding, with comments about 'his lovely eyes' and having to have to photo taken with the guests..groan... It went down hill quite fast when we were trying to get Shanon and his groomsmen to strike a manly pose.. Jaxon yells out at them "Just think about eating 'Man Yoghurt'" (Everyone slowly turns their heads to Jaxon with a worried look on their faces)........ I finally found out this really is a type of yoghurt.. , : http://www.mammothsupply.co.nz/ LOL!! Here are some pics from the day. Calico Jo
www.calicojo.co.nz Me and Abby had so much fun doing this. I tried to make my voice squeaky with the helium gas. I couldn't get it to start with, but after quite a few attempts and feeling rather ill, I got it down. Now I will share it with you: HOW TO MAKE YOUR VOICE SQUEAKY WITH HELIUM GAS Suck it in and hold your breath. DON'T BREATHE IT OUT AGAIN LIKE I KEPT DOING. Now speak without breathing out too much. The younger you are the longer it goes for, as my son Dempsey sounded like a chipmunk for ages. See Photography is fun!! Calico Jo
www.calicojo.co.nz It was a HOT day, and we were two hot photographers! Haaaaaa!

www.calicojo.co.nz Had a really fun Trash the Dress photo shoot with Rachel and Fayline. Dream Teen photographer, Abby, joined me and got some stunning photos. This location is beautiful!! It is a path called Larch Rd off Waipa Mill Bypass Rd, Rotorua. It's a walk alongside a stream. The stream has many log bridges and their is enough space (along with log benches) at the start for a small wedding ceremony. Grab those bridesmaids dresses out of the wardrobe, grab some girlfriends, I want to do this again! To see more of the photos, check out this slideshow: TWO SISTERS, TWO DRESSES

www.calicojo.co.nz Sheree had a great wedding theme; classic, 1930s ish, styling with a bit of Sheree taste tossed in. Her bridesmaid wore teal green and Sheree wore a champagne coloured wedding dress with a stunning long veil. This is a photo with her bridesmaid (sister) and her Mother holding her veil, and Grandmother holding her bouquet. Her reception tables were in the same teal colourings with picture cards of 1930s women with quotes. Here are the quotes: Love is like Magic And it always will be, For love still remains Life's sweet mystery. Love is unselfish Understanding and kind For it sees with its heart And not with its mind. Love works in ways That are Wondrous and strange And there's nothing in life That love cannot change Love is the answer That everyone seeks Love is the language That every heart speaks Love can Transform That most common place Into beauty and splendour And sweetness and grace Love can't be bought It is priceless and free Love, like pure magic It's a sweet mystery Sheree got ready at the Princess Gate Hotel which was also the Reception venue. The Princess Gate Hotel is really classic looking and really suited the whole wedding theme. From her room window you could see the Wedding ceremony set up and guests arriving at the Government Gardens Rotunda. As Wayne & Sheree are from Aussie, we had to get some photos of Rotorua so I took them to Sulphur Point before we headed off to Lake Tarawera for more photos. The place where the family had been staying was a gorgeous little lodge at Lake Tarawera with a stunning section that has a rustic pathway all the way down to the lake. It also had an outdoor pizza oven, almost like a hobbit hole wine cellar, huge outdoor rustic chair, a rotunda, and a swing! Sheree praised the Princess Gate Hotel for really doing their best to put on the reception she and Wayne desired, with an intimate dinner as well as an outdoor seating area to relax in. Before I left I took photos of the cutting of the cake (which had Smurfette and Gargamel on top), the bouquet toss (caught by the flower girl) and the garter toss. Really enjoyable wedding. Didn't she do well organising it all from Aussie!! If you would like to view more photo highlights here is the link to their you tube slide show: WAYNE & SHEREE As the conclusion of the photography course I taught, I got the 'Dream Teen's' to think of a fantasy scenario and photograph it. Thanks for Victoria Grove Costume hire for sponsoring the costume usage. The final choice of photos went into an exhibition at the Rotorua Public Library. I did Alice in Wonderland as my scenario, and these were my three that I put towards the exhibition. Had so much fun with this group of teens. Definitely a group of photographers to watch out for.
